About Go Green Skokie

Go Green Skokie is a community of individuals who live, work, or have children who currently attend school in Skokie.

Our mission is to support, educate about, and advocate for environmentally sustainable action in Skokie.

We collaborate with the Village, local businesses, faith communities, schools, other environmental organizations, and residents to accelerate climate action to meet our village’s Sustainability Plan goals.

We started in 2017 and worked with the Village on its most recent Sustainability Plan, coordinated the Walk Down Main Street, advocated for a sustainability coordinator, adopted Devonshire Park and removed invasive plants, initiated a program to bring composting to block parties, and worked with the Library and The Talking Farm on the Climate Cafe for youth and adults.
